Measured, not modelled
Every price is an observation of a real listing at a real place and time, carrying where it came from and when. Nothing on the shelf is inferred to fill a gap.

Grocery pricing in Egypt moves constantly and matters enormously. Basket Bee exists to measure it independently — rigorously enough to sell, and honestly enough about its limits to be worth buying.
A market where prices are visible is a fairer market than one where they are not. That is true for a household comparing a basket, and it is equally true for a supplier trying to find out how its own products are being priced by the chains that sell them.
We also believe measurement should be collected responsibly and reported with its limits attached. A number presented without its uncertainty is a liability dressed up as an asset.
The promise is comparability: the same product, across competing retailers, with the conditions and the confidence still visible.
A bee is small, fast, organized, and very good at finding value across a lot of ground. Basket Bee borrows that behaviour and wraps it in infrastructure built to be audited.

A lower headline number usually has a condition attached. The data keeps the plain price and the conditional price apart, so a comparison survives contact with the fine print.
Two retailers describe the same item in different languages, pack sizes and spellings. Resolving those into one comparable product is the hard part, and it is the part that is built.
Basket Bee has to be rigorous enough for the companies it is built to be licensed by, and legible enough for the people funding it.
FMCG suppliers who need to see how their products are priced and promoted across the market, rather than relying on what each retailer chooses to report back.
Teams managing several brands or territories at once, who need the same measurement applied consistently across all of them.
Allocators looking for a durable data position in Egyptian consumer commerce, where the underlying measurement is the asset.
Basket Bee is led by two Co-CEOs: Marwan Abdelmaged, BSc Computer Science, and Adam Nasser, BSc Business Accounting. The measurement system, the product-resolution layer and the operator control plane were designed and built in-house rather than assembled from vendors.
